மிகப் பெரிய அளவிலான தொழில் நுட்ப மாற்றங்களுடன் சென்ற அக்டோபர் 22 அன்று, மைக்ரோசாப்ட் உலக நாடுகள் அனைத்திலும் தன் புதிய விண்டோஸ் 7 ஆப்பரேட்டிங் சிஸ்டத்தினை விற்பனைக்கு அறிமுகப்படுத்தியது. புதிய வசதிகள், தொழில் நுட்ப மாற்றங்கள் ஆகியவற்றினால், இதன் வெளியீடு ஏறத்தாழ 18 மாதங்கள் ஒத்திவைக்கப்பட்டது. டில்லியில் இதனைத் தன் சிஸ்டம் கூட்டாளிகளான எச்.சி.எல்., எச்.பி. மற்றும் ஏசர் போன்ற நிறுவனங்களுடன் இணைந்து இந்த பதிப்பை மைக்ரோசாப்ட் வெளியிட்டது. புதிய வசதிகளாக வேடிக்கை அம்சங்கள், எளிமையான இயக்கம் மற்றும் இதுவரை இல்லாத வகையில் கூடுதல் பாதுகாப்பு எனப் பல முனைகளில் இந்த ஆப்பரேட்டிங் சிஸ்டம் அமைக்கப் பட்டுள்ளதாக மைக்ரோசாப்ட் இந்தியா பிரிவின் தலைவர் அறிவித்துள்ளார்.

புதிய வசதிகளை உருவமைக்க ஏறத்தாழ 600 வகையான கருத்துகள் பரிசீலிக்கப்பட்டு ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளப்பட்டு உருவாக்கப்பட்டன. இதன் சோதனைத் தொகுப்பினை, இதுவரை ஆப்பரேட்டிங் சிஸ்டம் வரலாற்றில் இல்லாத வகையில், 80 லட்சம் பேர் உலகின் பல நாடுகளில் சோதனை செய்தனர். அவர்கள் அளித்த அறிவுரைகளுக்கேற்ப இவற்றில் இருந்த பல பிரச்னை களுக்குத் தீர்வுகள் காணப்பட்டன. இதற்கு முன் வெளிவந்த விஸ்டா சிஸ்டம், வாடிக்கையாளர்களிடம் இடம் பெறாமல் போவதற்குப் பல காரணங்கள் இருந்தன. கம்ப்யூட்டர் கட்டமைப்பில் பல புதிய கூடுதல் வசதிகளை விஸ்டா எதிர்பார்த்ததால், பலர் தங்களின் கம்ப்யூட்டர்களை 2001ல் வெளியான விண்டோஸ் எக்ஸ்பி சிஸ்டத்திலேயே தொடர்ந்து இயக்கி வந்தனர். இதனை மனதில் கொண்டே விண்டோஸ் 7 உருவாக்கப்பட்டது.

பல கம்ப்யூட்டர் நிறுவனங்கள், தாங்கள் விற்பனை செய்திடும் கம்ப்யூட்டர்களிலும், குறிப்பாக நெட்புக் கம்ப்யூட்டர்களிலும், விண்டோஸ் 7 பதிப்பை பதிந்து தரத் தயாராகிவிட்டன. குறிப்பாக எச்.பி. இந்தியா, எச்.சி.எல்., ஏசர் ஆகியவை இவ்வகையில் ஏற்கனவே அறிவிப்பை வெளியிட்டுள்ளதாக மைக்ரோசாப்ட் நிறுவன அதிகாரிகள் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர். எச்பி இந்தியா நிறுவனம் விண்டோஸ் 7 சிஸ்டம் உள்ள கம்ப்யூட்டர்களை ரூ. 27,990 முதல் ரூ. 90,000 வரையிலான விலையில் அறிவித்துள்ளது. ஏசர் பி.சி. நிறுவனம் ரூ. 15,000 முதல் ரூ.35,000 வரை விலை அறிவித்துள்ளது.

நோட்புக் கம்ப்யூட்டர்கள் ரூ. 21,000 முதல் ரூ.71,000 விலையில் உள்ளன. இனி தொழில் நுட்ப தகவல்கள் மற்றும் வசதிகள் குறித்து இங்கு பார்க்கலாம்.
1. இரண்டு வகை சிஸ்டங்கள் வெளியிடப்பட்டுள்ளன. அவை 32 பிட் மற்றும் 64 பிட் ஆகும். இவற்றில் ஸ்டார்ட்டர் எடிஷன் 32 பிட் வகையில் மட்டுமே கிடைக்கிறது.
2. 64 பிட் சிஸ்டம் வகையில் பிசிகல் மெமரி, ஹோம் பிரிமியம் சிஸ்டத்தில் 16 ஜிபி, புரபஷனல் மற்றும் அல்ட்டிமேட் வகையில் 192 ஜிபி ஆக உள்ளன. ஸ்டார்ட்டர் எடிஷனில் இது இல்லை.

இதனை அடுத்துள்ள ஹோம் பிரிமியம், கம்ப்யூட்டர்களைப் பரவலாகப் பயன் படுத்துவோருக்கேற்ற ஒன்றாக உள்ளது. மைக்ரோசாப்ட், தன் வாடிக்கையாளர்கள் என்ன என்ன வசதிகள் புதியதாக இணைக்கப் பட்டிருப்பதை அறிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்று எண்ணுகிறதோ, அவை அனைத்தும் இதில் உள்ளன. புரோகிராம்களின் செயல்பாட்டினை முன்கூட்டியே அறிதல், டெஸ்க்டாப் பிலிருந்து தேவையற்ற ஐகான்களை நீக்குதல், புரோகிராம் விண்டோக்களை ரீசைஸ் செய்திடும் ஏரோ ஸ்நாப், ஊடுறுவிப்பார்க்கும் வகையில் டாஸ்க்பாரின் தோற்றம் காட்டும் ஏரோ ஸ்கின் மற்றும் விண்டோ பார்டர்ஸ் ஆகிய அனைத்தும் இதில் தரப்பட்டுள்ளன. விண்டோஸ் மீடியா பிளேயர் மற்றும் விண்டோஸ் மீடியா சென்டர் ஆகிய வசதிகள் சிறப்பாக இயக்கும் முறையில் தரப்பட்டுள்ளன. ஹோம் குருப் உருவாக்கி ஒரு சிலருக்குள் மியூசிக் சார்ந்த பொழுது போக்கு பைல்களையும் மற்ற பைல்களையும் பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளலாம். இதில் 64 பிட் பதிப்பு இருந்தாலும், ராம் பிசிகல் மெமரி 16 ஜிபி வரை மட்டுமே கிடைக்கிறது. ஹோம் பிரிமியம் எடிஷனை எந்த நேரத்திலும் புரபஷனல் அல்லது அல்ட்டிமேட் எடிஷனுக்கு அப்கிரேட் செய்து கொள்ளலாம்.

முழுமையான வசதிகள் பல இருந்தாலும், விண்டோஸ் 7 ஹோம் பிரிமியம், புரபஷனல் மற்றும் அல்ட்டிமேட் பதிப்புகளில் உள்ள பல வசதிகளைக் கொண்டிருக்கவில்லை. நெட்வொர்க் டிரைவில் இணைக்கப் பட்டிருக்கையில் பேக் அப் வசதியை இயக்க முடியாது. பிட் லாக்கர், ஆப் லாக்கர் வசதிகள் இல்லை. எக்ஸ்பி மோட் இல்லை.

How to Create Themes in Windows XP

We tend to keep changing the looks of our operating system. Especially the the desktop settings which helps to make better our computer appearnce. We try to set new background image or add new icons for different folders or application. If a user like me uses his computer daily, thus a user like me will get bored seeing the same visual appearnce all the time. The first thing when we have computer is to change desktop settings and enjoy it's visual appearance.

I guess we all like to see our computer better in terms of looks and performance. It's true that we try with many theme software and application available online or someimes installing such themes also create problem for us as it may contain some virus. But what if i say that no need for extra application regarding increasing your visual effects. Yes you can make your own customize themes for Windows XP operating System.
Steps For Creating Themes in Windows XP:

• Create Icons Folder:

As you download the icons, you have to collect them ay one place with leaving them untouched. As you create the folder, it will be easy to find or navigate in between the steps for creating themes for windows xp operating system. I would like to create folder in My Documents with name Icons and save all my icons there.

As I am having few icons to select from, I need to decide what icons I am required to change or modify. In this section, I will try to explain customization of windows icons:

All icons on the desktop.

Icons on the Quick Launch bar.

Some of the file-type icons for the entire system.

There are shareware and freeware applications which are available on streamline icon which help you to change Stardock's IconPackager, for example, making a super simple and easy to change the entire thing. In this section I will help you understand the changes done without any additional software.

• Customize Desktop Icons

Check out the icons on normal desktop a the way it looks before any changes. These are the standard icons of My Computer, My Documents, and the Recycle Bin, as well as of folder named Miscellaneous, with two shortcuts.

• Customizing Default Desktop Icons:

Initially just click on Start and then click Control Panel, then click on Appearance and Themes, and below select a task, and click to change the desktop background.

Just on the Desktop tab in the Display Properties dialog box, you have to click on Customize Desktop.

As you will see Desktop Items dialog box, just try to choose the icon you need to change and then click on Change Icon. The Change Icon dialog box will open, which will display you all icons in the recent selected file. In this, you need to specify as what icons are displayed at the desktop by default. I choosed the My Computer, My Documents, and Recycle Bin icons for changing from default to new one.

To select from icons not currently displayed, click Browse, and in the Change Icon dialog box, navigate to the icons you downloaded, select the icon you want to use, click Open, and then click OK

Just inside Desktop Items dialog box, choose the next icon you need to change and repeat steps 3–4.

As you finished modifying the icons listed, just click on OK, and inside the Desktop Properties dialog box, click on OK in order to apply the changes.

• Customizing Folder Icons:

1. Right-click the folder, and then click Properties.
   
2. On the Customize tab, click Change icon.
   
3. In the Change Icon dialog box, click Browse, navigate to the new icon you want to use, select it, and then click Open.
   
4. Click OK, and then click OK again to apply the change.

• Customizing Shortcut Icons:

1. Right-click the shortcut you want to customize, and then click Properties.
2. On the Shortcut tab, click Change Icon.
3. In the Change Icon dialog box, click Browse, navigate to the new icon you want to use, select it, and then click Open.
4. Click OK, and then OK again to apply the change.

• Customizing Quick Launch Bar Icons:

1. Right-click the Quick Launch icon you want to change, and then click Properties.
2. On the Shortcut tab, click Change Icon.
3. In the Change Icon dialog box, click Browse, navigate to the new icon you want to use, select it, and then click Open.
4. Click OK, and then click OK again to apply the change.

• Customizing File-Type Icons:

Files with a common file extension such as .doc, .html, etc are the type of same file type. The icons for such file types are actually not accessible personally, but it is possible to change them.

1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Appearance and Themes, and then click Folder Options.
2. In the Folder Options dialog box, click the File Types tab.
3. Select the file type you wish to change, and then click Advanced.
4. In the Edit File Type dialog box, click Change Icon.
5. In the Change Icon dialog box, click Browse, and navigate to the new icon you want to use, select it, and then click Open.
6. Click OK, and then click Close.

• Change the Desktop Background:

Select a standard location in order to save the images as similar like with custom icons. For instance, Create a folder named Wallpaper in the My Pictures folder in My Documents. Download images, and save them to this folder.

Now that you consists of few images to choose from, change the desktop background:

1. Open the folder you just created in which to store your images.
2. Select an image to use as a desktop background.
3. In the Picture Tasks pane, click Set as desktop background.
4. Both screen savers and sound effects can be customized easily as well. However, it's not something I normally do, so I haven't covered how to make those changes here. I actually find it annoying if my computer makes noise every time I do something. As for screen savers, well, I just don't care since when a screen saver is on, I'm not there to see it.

• Save Theme:

As you are completed iwth making customized desktop,you dodnot need to lose the changes. It's very easy to save all the settings and apply again that theme.

1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Appearance and Themes, and then click Change the computer's theme.
2. In the Display Properties dialog box, next to the theme menu, click Save as.
3. Enter a new name and click Save.

You can save the theme any place you'd like. For instance, you might make a Themes folder in your My Documents folder and save it there. That's all there is to it.

Like Word, Excel or Outlook, PowerPoint 2007 will accept orders placed as a parameter to launch. These commands fix the application or impose a specific launch, different from the default. A good way to resolve crashes and failures, but also to gain in productivity!

The launch commands are commands that alter the normal launch of the application. These commands are often expressed in one or more letters preceded by the sign "/".

To use them, two possibilities:

- Launch Microsoft PowerPoint from the Run menu by pressing [Windows] + [R] and then typing:
POWERPNT/command

- Launch PowerPoint 2007 from the Start menu of Vista or Windows 7 by opening the menu with a brief pressure on the [Windows] and typing in the search field:
POWERPNT/command

The available commands are:

- POWERPNT/RESTORE
Use this command after a crash of PowerPoint while you were full up or full slideshow. The software will then load all by trying to pick up where the program has crashed.

- POWERPNT/S name_of_file.pptx
Lance PowerPoint file with the designated and automatically launch mode "Slide Show", that is the way "Slideshow."

- POWERPNT/C name_of_file.pptx
Lance PowerPoint conference mode "NetMeeting" by loading the file automatically designated.
